I have advised many people, artists, gallery owners and small businesses to write blogs and use social media and yet never get around to it myself! The latest in our series of DVD's, The Space Between is now in stock which focuses on Eberhard Ross - his work and artistic practice. This will be viewable online in time for his solo exhibition in London in May. The reason for making a film series is a way for our artists to reach a wider audience and be used as an educational tool for youngsters, students and art lovers alike. The Intelligence Squared debate "Art Fairs are about Money not Art" held at the Saatchi Gallery a couple of weeks ago was stimulating but for the most part still focused on the elite artworld, the only art fairs being mentioned being Freize and Art Basel as if that were representative. Surely all the art fairs of whatever level are necessary to encourage individual viewing and eventual purchasing of art, gradual increasing of discernment amongst the audience and to encourage the next generation of artists, curators and art collectors. Many people feel intimidated by entering a white commercial gallery space and art fairs wherever they are located are vital to bring in people from all walks of life into a commercial environment. Equally important are the efforts being made by the big public galleries and museums to attract wider audiences too, especially young people.
